Han begyndte at formalisere standardprincipper for bodybuilding i 1970'erne, hvilket totalt \u00e6ndrede den fysiske tr\u00e6ningsverden. Dengang var de fleste styrke-, fitness- og bodybuildingtr\u00e6ningsprogrammer centreret omkring bev\u00e6gelser fra v\u00e6gtl\u00f8ftning (b\u00e6nkpres, squats, d\u00f8dl\u00f8ft...). De fleste af disse \u00f8velser var poly-muskul\u00e6re og poly-led. De vigtigste innovationer i disse maskiner var k\u00e6derne og rotationsakserne, der gjorde det muligt ikke at v\u00e6re afh\u00e6ngig af tyngdekraften alene. Han begyndte at arbejde p\u00e5 flere serier af fitnessmaskiner, som revolutionerede fitnessverdenen totalt. Som en \u00e6gte iv\u00e6rks\u00e6tter inds\u00e5 han hurtigt markedspotentialet for sine maskiner og oprettede hurtigt et firma kaldet 'Nautilus'. Han fik hurtigt en sand kommerciel succes i Nordamerika og begyndte at s\u00e6lge sine maskiner over hele verden. I 1984 var der over 4700 Nautilus-fitnesscentre i USA. Hans fitnessmaskiner blev brugt n\u00e6sten overalt fra professionel sport (baseball, basketball, amerikansk fodbold...), universiteter og high schools til kommercielle fitnesscentre. Jones blev s\u00e5 succesfuld, at han blev optaget p\u00e5 Forbes' liste over de 400 rigeste mennesker p\u00e5 det tidspunkt. Mange af hans Nautilus-maskiners design og udstyr er faktisk de sande forf\u00e6dre til det udstyr og de m\u00e6rker, vi kan se overalt i dag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inspireret af sin far grundlagde Gary Jones (Arthurs s\u00f8n) det ikoniske fitnessudstyrsm\u00e6rke Hammer Strength i 1989. Interessant nok startede det, der nu er verdensreferencen inden for fitnessmaskiner, med et partnerskab med Cincinnati Bengals (den amerikanske fodboldklub) om at skabe styrketr\u00e6ningsmaskiner, der ville forenkle biomekanikken i v\u00e6gtl\u00f8ftning og samtidig matche den naturlige menneskelige bev\u00e6gelse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Arthur Jones' udgangspunkt: Steroidernes hykleri<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Jones' \u00f8nske om at opfinde et nyt tr\u00e6ningssystem udsprang af en simpel observation (som allerede var aktuel i 70'erne): den allestedsn\u00e6rv\u00e6rende brug og misbrug af steroider i bodybuildingverdenen (og i professionel sport).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><em>\"opfinde et helt andet tr\u00e6ningssystem, der ville give gode resultater og eliminere steroidernes sv\u00f8be.\"<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>S\u00e5 hvorfor promovere Fitness, som skulle forbedre ud\u00f8vernes helbred og liv, hvis det var for at se folk \u00e6de sig m\u00e6tte i steroider og \u00f8del\u00e6gge deres liv? Det var totalt nonsens, noget kunne v\u00e6re galt! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>M\u00e5ske var hele tilgangen baseret p\u00e5 flerledsbev\u00e6gelser og \u00f8velser arvet fra v\u00e6gtl\u00f8ftning d\u00e5rlig. Det var derfor, han ville starte forfra. Uanset om det var squat, b\u00e6nkpres eller d\u00f8dl\u00f8ft, var alle disse bev\u00e6gelser kernen i enhver bodybuilders tr\u00e6ning dengang. S\u00e5 meget, at v\u00e6gtstangsbaserede isolations\u00f8velser (biceps curls osv.) prim\u00e6rt blev praktiseret for at kunne \u00f8ge deres pr\u00e6station i disse v\u00e6gtl\u00f8ftningsbev\u00e6gelser. Det var, if\u00f8lge dem selv, den eneste m\u00e5de, de kendte til, som udl\u00f8ste muskelv\u00e6kst.<br>Med denne metode havde mange atleter ganske vist oplevet muskelfor\u00f8gelse hurtigt og uden at tage steroider. Men kurven for muskelfor\u00f8gelse stagnerede meget hurtigt efter disse indledende gevinster. Netop det faktum, at de engagerede flere muskler, gjorde det kun muligt at m\u00e6tte musklerne i l\u00f8bet af en meget kort periode og med n\u00f8dvendigvis tungere og tungere v\u00e6gte. Derfor var det meget vanskeligt at g\u00f8re fremskridt under disse omst\u00e6ndigheder uden at l\u00f8fte for tungt, hvilket \u00f8gede risikoen for skader betydeligt og resulterede i overtr\u00e6ning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Det var derfra, Jones begyndte at forestille sig, at hans Nautilus-maskiner kunne m\u00e5lrette og isolere muskler, maksimere deres sammentr\u00e6kning og reducere risikoen for skader og overtr\u00e6ning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">N\u00f8gleprincip 2: St\u00f8d musklen med s\u00e5 h\u00f8j intensitet som muligt<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/x_jdwyvrpaY\" title=\"YouTube-videoafspiller\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Da Jones studerede bodybuildernes tr\u00e6ning, opdagede han, at de tr\u00e6nede i timevis hver dag. Men dette tr\u00e6ningstempo var kun holdbart, hvis de tog dopingprodukter. De fleste atleter, der ikke tog steroider, var nemlig ikke i stand til at gengive disse sessioner s\u00e5 regelm\u00e6ssigt uden et betydeligt fald i pr\u00e6station, stagnation af muskelmasse og frem for alt skader.<br>Han udleder af sine observationer, at muskeltr\u00e6ning og styrketr\u00e6ning kun b\u00f8r tjene til at skabe en ekstern stimulus, der tvinger menneskekroppen til at reagere.
