Come\u00e7ou a formalizar princ\u00edpios padr\u00e3o para o culturismo na d\u00e9cada de 1970, o que mudou totalmente o mundo do treino f\u00edsico. Nessa altura, a maioria dos treinos de for\u00e7a, fitness e muscula\u00e7\u00e3o centravam-se em movimentos de levantamento de pesos (supino, agachamento, levantamento terra...). A maior parte destes exerc\u00edcios eram poli-musculares e poli-articulares. As principais inova\u00e7\u00f5es destas m\u00e1quinas foram as correntes e os eixos de rota\u00e7\u00e3o que permitiam n\u00e3o estar dependentes apenas da gravidade. Come\u00e7ou a trabalhar em v\u00e1rias linhas de m\u00e1quinas de fitness que revolucionaram totalmente o mundo do fitness. Como um verdadeiro empreendedor, apercebeu-se rapidamente do potencial de mercado das suas m\u00e1quinas e criou rapidamente uma empresa chamada 'Nautilus'. Rapidamente teve um verdadeiro sucesso comercial na Am\u00e9rica do Norte e come\u00e7ou a vender as suas m\u00e1quinas em todo o mundo. Em 1984, mais de 4700 centros de fitness Nautilus estavam activos nos EUA. As suas m\u00e1quinas de fitness eram utilizadas em quase todo o lado, desde desportos profissionais (basebol, basquetebol, futebol americano...), universidades e escolas secund\u00e1rias a gin\u00e1sios comerciais de fitness. Jones tornou-se t\u00e3o bem sucedido que foi inclu\u00eddo na lista da Forbes das 400 pessoas mais ricas da altura. Muitos dos seus designs de m\u00e1quinas e equipamentos Nautilus s\u00e3o, de facto, os verdadeiros antepassados dos equipamentos e marcas que podemos ver em todo o lado hoje em dia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inspirado pelo seu pai, Gary Jones (filho de Arthur), fundou a ic\u00f3nica marca de equipamento de fitness Hammer Strength em 1989. Curiosamente, o que \u00e9 agora a refer\u00eancia mundial em m\u00e1quinas de fitness come\u00e7ou com uma parceria com os Cincinnati Bengals (a equipa de futebol americano dos EUA) para criar m\u00e1quinas de treino de for\u00e7a que simplificassem a biomec\u00e2nica do levantamento de pesos, ao mesmo tempo que correspondiam ao movimento humano natural.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">O ponto de partida de Arthur Jones: a hipocrisia dos ester\u00f3ides<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>O desejo de Jones de inventar um novo sistema de treino nasceu de uma simples constata\u00e7\u00e3o (j\u00e1 atual nos anos 70): a omnipresen\u00e7a e o abuso de ester\u00f3ides no mundo do Bodybuilding (e nos desportos profissionais).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><em>\"inventar um sistema de treino totalmente diferente que d\u00ea bons resultados e elimine o flagelo dos ester\u00f3ides\"<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Portanto, porqu\u00ea promover o Fitness, que era suposto melhorar a sa\u00fade e a vida dos praticantes, se era para ver as pessoas a empanturrarem-se de ester\u00f3ides e a destru\u00edrem as suas vidas? Isso era um disparate total, alguma coisa podia estar errada! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Talvez toda a abordagem baseada em movimentos e exerc\u00edcios poliarticulares herdados do halterofilismo fosse m\u00e1. \u00c9 por isso que ele queria recome\u00e7ar do in\u00edcio. Quer fossem agachamentos, supinos ou levantamentos terra, todos estes movimentos estavam no centro do treino de qualquer culturista na altura. A tal ponto que os exerc\u00edcios de isolamento com barra (rosca b\u00edceps, etc.) eram praticados principalmente para poder aumentar o seu desempenho nestes movimentos de levantamento de peso. O que era, segundo eles, a \u00fanica forma que conheciam de despoletar o crescimento muscular.<br>\u00c9 certo que, atrav\u00e9s deste m\u00e9todo, muitos atletas tiveram ganhos musculares rapidamente e sem tomar ester\u00f3ides. No entanto, a curva de ganhos musculares estagnou muito rapidamente ap\u00f3s estes ganhos iniciais. O pr\u00f3prio facto de envolverem v\u00e1rios m\u00fasculos s\u00f3 permitia saturar os m\u00fasculos durante um per\u00edodo de tempo muito curto e com pesos necessariamente cada vez maiores. Por conseguinte, era muito dif\u00edcil progredir nestas circunst\u00e2ncias sem levantar demasiado peso, o que aumentava significativamente o risco de les\u00f5es e resultava em sobretreino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Foi a partir da\u00ed que Jones come\u00e7ou a imaginar as suas m\u00e1quinas Nautilus para atingir e isolar os m\u00fasculos, maximizar a sua contra\u00e7\u00e3o e reduzir o risco de les\u00f5es e de excesso de treino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Princ\u00edpio-chave 2: Dar choques no m\u00fasculo com a maior intensidade poss\u00edvel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/x_jdwyvrpaY\" title=\"Leitor de v\u00eddeo do YouTube\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Ao estudar os treinos dos culturistas, Jones descobriu que eles treinavam durante horas todos os dias. No entanto, este ritmo de treino s\u00f3 era sustent\u00e1vel na condi\u00e7\u00e3o de tomarem produtos dopantes. Com efeito, a maioria dos atletas que n\u00e3o tomavam ester\u00f3ides n\u00e3o conseguia reproduzir estas sess\u00f5es com a mesma regularidade sem uma queda significativa do desempenho, uma estagna\u00e7\u00e3o da massa muscular e, sobretudo, les\u00f5es.<br>Deduz das suas observa\u00e7\u00f5es que o exerc\u00edcio muscular e o treino de for\u00e7a devem servir apenas para criar um est\u00edmulo externo que obrigue o corpo humano a reagir.
