As a natural fitness practitioner for over 20 years, I have had the chance to train in most of the luxury fitness gyms around the world. Here is my personal and independent opinion on the most suitable fitness equipment brands for a premium fitness gym.
Technogym: the reference choice for cardio space and pulley and cable machines
Technogym is an Italian world-leading manufacturer of Fitness machines and equipments based in Cesena. It was founded in 1983 and is a world reference in terms of quality of its cardio equipment (stairmaster, treadmill …) as well as in all cable and pulley machines. Thanks to a range of home cardio equipment intended for a high-end clientele, Technogym has cemented the reputation of its range intended for premium Fitness gyms. It is therefore now difficult for a premium Fitness gym to do without Technogym in this area. In addition, the pulley towers (especially those with adjustable pulleys) are generally very popular with high-end customers for their quality, design and practicality.
However, I would not necessarily recommend their range of Pure Strength equipment although I love training on it. Indeed, although of very good quality and generally appreciated by premium customers, Pure Strength by Technogym has lost its appeal in the high-end market because it is present in too many low-cost Fitness Gyms and associated with Fitness practitioners who absolutely want to put on a lot of weight. The most credible alternative on the high-end market to Technogym’s Pure Strength machines is probably the Xtrem by Delavier range created by the French brand Laroq. Laroq’s Xtrem Fitness machines offer a superb design, good quality and a look and feel very suited to premium Fitness gyms and their customers. It allows to offer performance to the most assiduous practitioners who will largely have the impression of getting value for their money, which is no longer the case with Technogym’s Pure Strength machines which are too present in the low-cost market segment.
Panatta: luxury, design and performance
In the world of luxury fitness, we no longer present Panatta, the Italian brand, a pioneer since 1975, has been able to combine design, luxury and performance very early on. Today it offers a range of free weight fitness machines whose quality, leather finish, design, performance and sensations offered during training delight all high-end fitness practitioners. In addition, Panatta offers a range of guided machines for the lower body whose look and feel is particularly appreciated by high-end female fitness practitioners.
Watson Gym Equipment: the Rolls Royce of dumbbells
Watson Gym Equipment is an English company that offers dumbbells whose quality and finish make it the reference brand for any premium Fitness Gym. In addition to being customizable, Watson also offers fat-grip dumbbells that are quite unique on the market. In addition to these dumbbells, Watson also offers Fitness machines and weight discs whose design and performance are particularly appreciated by a premium clientele.
Eleiko: the world reference for barbells
Eleiko is a Swedish brand of fitness equipment that needs no introduction due to its international reputation acquired in the manufacture of ball bearing barbells that will be used in Olympic weight lifting competitions. The success of this brand came from its ability to offer solid barbells, capable of offering incredible deformation and rebound performance for the time while offering the inertia of a ball bearing. These barbells were very early adored by the greatest athletes thanks to the comfort offered by the inertia of the ball bearings when pulling heavy loads (without deforming). Eleiko is therefore THE reference brand for spaces dedicated to Weight Lifting and premium cross-fit spaces. Eleiko has also recently innovated by creating dumbbells integrating their famous ball bearings which offer quite unique sensations on the market.
Hammer Strength: a brand associated with bodybuilding competitions that remains essential
Surprisingly enough, the Hammer Strength brand (belonging to LifeFitness) is part of this selection of premium fitness equipment brands for these very specific reasons. Indeed, the Hammer Strength brand, although associated with competitive bodybuilding practitioners with all their excesses, remains a reference brand in the world of fitness. Despite a rather rustic look and feel (performance-oriented), the Hammer Strength fitness free-weight machines offer unique and unmatched joint adjustment on the market, especially for tall men. It also offers high-quality and customizable squat cages. Finally, Hammer Strength offers an unrivaled depth of range both in terms of the diversity of targeted muscle groups and in clever variations. As a result, this brand remains an essential reference for any Premium Fitness Gym.
