When it comes to Alpine luxury, Gstaad, the famous Swiss village, needs no introduction. If you plan to spend a few days there, here are my 3 favorite luxury spa hotels.
LeCrans Hotel
LeCrans is probably the hotel I like the most when I come to the Gstaad region. Indeed, with its exposed stones, beams and decor, you really feel like you are in your own little chalet in the middle of the Alps. If you add to that a magnificent view, absolutely wonderful staff and an outdoor swimming pool, you are really in a luxurious setting with a warm atmosphere. The only problem with this hotel is that to enjoy this view, you will have to travel about 22 kilometers from the city center of Gstaad (and by car in the Swiss Alps, that means about 2 hours of driving).
ERMITAGE Wellness & Spa-Hotel
The Ermitage Hotel offers the advantage of being only 3 kilometers from the city center of Gstaad right next to the Saanen airport. This hotel offers a superb outdoor swimming pool, a luxurious Spa and a Chalet decor a little more modern and bright than LeCrans. This hotel will also be very convenient if you wish to enjoy the famous Golfclub Gstaad-Saanenland which is 5 minutes from the hotel by car. Finally, if you stay in this hotel, I strongly advise you to go eat a fondue (local culinary specialty based on melted cheese) at the Hiking trail to the Fondue Caquelon Cheese Grotto where you can enjoy a panoramic view.
Lenkerhof Gourmet Spa Resort
This hotel is located in Lenk, 11 kilometers from Gstaad. I really like the restaurant of this hotel because not only is the food excellent but also because with its bay window, you have the impression of eating in the middle of the mountains (remember to ask for a table close to the window when booking) which is absolutely fabulous during dinners in the middle of winter. In addition, this hotel is the location of choice if you want to be able to go hiking to enjoy magical places such as: Iffigbach Wasserfall, Barbarabrücke, Simmenfälle…
