Whether you are passing through Paris or a resident, going for a drink or a snack in a good pub is always an option that can prove practical and economical. The other advantage of good Parisian pubs is that you can dance (generally from 11 p.m.) and why not meet someone there. In fact, tables and chairs are often cleared away so that the place can be transformed into a dance floor (which obviously makes meeting people easier). In this article, I offer you my selection of the 3 Parisian Pubs that I appreciate the most for their atmosphere, their quality and their attendance.
O’Sullivans By The Mill, Paris Pigalle
This Pub is clearly an institution. You will find O’Sullivan’s Pubs all over Paris but this one remains my favorite. In fact, I like the atmosphere, the crowds and especially the neighborhood. Imagine being able to drink a good, inexpensive beer in a nice atmosphere a few meters from the Moulin Rouge. Whether you are passing through the area or coming out of a visit to Montmartre, this Pub will offer you a place to eat, drink or meet someone.
During the week, you will find many Parisians who meet there for afterworks (as well as tourists) or to watch sports matches (or a concert). On the other hand, from Friday evening you will come across a lot of night owls who come to dance and have fun in a good-natured atmosphere and enjoy the various evenings.
Finally, to get there, nothing could be simpler on the Paris Metro. Indeed, this Pub is located at the foot of the Metro Blanche stop (Line 2) but also a few meters from the Pigalle stop (Line 12) or Place de Clichy (Line 13). Some Parisians also decide to go there directly on foot from Saint Lazare station (15 minutes on foot).
Pub Saint-Germain, Paris Saint Germain
This Pub is located in the middle of the student district of Paris (also called the Latin Quarter) of Saint Germain des Pres. It benefits from a very central position in Paris, a very good reputation and the proximity of numerous universities (Sorbonne, Assas…), the Pantheon, the Saint Germain des Pres Market and the Luxembourg Palace. In short, whether you are passing through this essential district as a tourist or are looking for a good place to spend a good evening: I can only advise you to take a trip to the Pub Saint Germain. The prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is very good, the staff is professional and the quality of attendance is also there.
The evenings organized from Thursday evening until the weekend are also highly anticipated thanks to the DJs who know how to create a fiery atmosphere.
In short, I love this place, its only downside is that it is very busy on Friday and Saturday evenings to the point that it is sometimes difficult to make your way through the crowd.
Café OZ, Paris Denfert Rochereau
You will find several Café Oz in Paris but my favorite remains this one. I appreciate its position in the South of Paris between Montparnasse and the 13th arrondissement which will allow you to meet many local people. It is a little less frequented by passing tourists than the other two due to its positioning a little further from the main tourist attractions. However, the atmosphere is dynamic and attendance remains young thanks to the proximity of Gobelins and the International University City.
In addition, by public transport, it is very easy to access because it is located right opposite the Denfert Rochereau station (a central transport hub).
The place is very spacious with a large outdoor terrace. There is a big dance floor, good beers and decent and not very expensive food.
In short, if you are passing through the South of Paris, don’t hesitate to stop by.
