The famous Avenue des Champs Elysées

Paris, Paris, the city synonymous with luxury, jewelry, haute couture and great designers. However, despite this international reputation, many tourists don’t really know where to go to find all these exceptional shops. In fact, I was chatting last time with a model friend who was visiting Paris for fashion week and it was one of the first questions she asked me. This is not the first time that French or foreign friends have asked me this question. So, I decided to write this article to share my favorite streets in which to find the most beautiful brands and stores.

1/ Paris Avenue des Champs Elysées, known to everyone but still so inevitable

It’s difficult to start an article on the streets dedicated to luxury shopping without immediately mentioning the Avenue des Champs Elysées. Indeed, located between the Arc de Triomphe and Place de la Concorde, this avenue known to everyone and present in all tourist guides is completely unmissable.

Where to do luxury shopping on the Champs Elysees, Paris

Most of the major luxury houses and major international brands are fighting to have a store there because its reputation is so great. Many Parisians love to stroll and eat there while tourists often rush to the emblematic stores like Louis Vuitton, Dior, Longchamp, Guerlain, Lancôme… (by the way, don’t miss the new hotel in the shape of a Louis Vuitton trunk)

If you want to eat there, I will definitely point you to Fouquet’s and if you want to have a drink, the Publicis Drugstore (at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe) remain two essential addresses due to their reputation.

By the way, I advise you not to miss the new hotel in the shape of a Louis Vuitton trunk.

Until then, you will tell me, nothing new, everyone knows… It’s very true, but it nonetheless remains unavoidable.

Where to eat, or have a drink in an exceptional place on the Champs Elysées, Paris

If you want to stay in ultra luxury but you already know these addresses, I can only advise you to go eat at the Pavyllon Paris (also known as the Pavillon Ledoyen) of the great Chef Yannick Alleno (be careful, you will need to book in advance).

You can also try going to the restaurant Laurent (a restaurant known by major French and international businessmen) but again you will need a reservation. If you don’t have a reservation and just want to have a drink, nothing better than the Les Ambassadeurs bar at the Hotel du Crillon (its restaurant is also an excellent address but you will need to reserve in advance).

Where to organize a private event on the Champs Elysées, Paris

Finally, if you wish to organize a large private event on the Champs Elysees, I can only recommend Le Pavillon Elysee Té (5 rooms can be rented for different capacities ranging from 10/25 to 30/200 people). If you want to organize a private event in a small group, nothing beats the Cave Dining (maximum 12 persons) at the Hotel de Crillon which will give you access to exceptional wines.

2/ Paris, Avenue Montaigne, absolutely unmissable

Chanel, Avenue Montaigne

Located right next to the Champs Elysees, Avenue Montaigne is absolutely essential if you want to go shopping in luxury boutiques.

Indeed, if you don’t understand why people always talk to you about the Champs Elysees for shopping and you were disappointed when you went there, it’s quite simply because you didn’t go to Avenue Montaigne.

Where to find the major haute couture houses in Paris, Avenue Montaigne, Paris

This avenue is perpendicular to the Avenue des Champs Elysees and is almost entirely dedicated to luxury clothing. It has been one of the Meccas of Parisian fashion since Christian Dior decided during his lifetime to establish his workshops there.

There you will find the famous stores of Celine, Saint Laurent, Chanel, Versace, Ferragamo, Jimmy Choo, Fendi, Balenciaga, Loewe, Chloé, Jacquemus, Gucci, Dior, Dior Baby…

Eat or have a drink in a Parisian Palace, Avenue Montaigne, Paris

Don’t hesitate to stroll through this avenue with its exceptional architecture and if you want to have a drink, the Bar du Plaza Athenee (its exceptional restaurant will require a reservation) is an address not to be missed, as is its Breakfast & Brunch.

3/ Paris, Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, the chic par excellence

The Gucci store at the angle of Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, Paris

Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré is a small street whose charm and numerous luxury boutiques will seduce even the most demanding. This street, synonymous with luxury, is known to all French people because it houses the Elysée Palace (the French presidential palace) as well as numerous embassies.

It is also home to many luxury houses including the very exclusive and prestigious Maison Hermes which has one of these stores there. You will also find many other stores there like Cartier, Tod’s, Chanel, Jitrois, Louboutin, Gucci, Prada, Lancaster… The list is so long that I just suggest you allow at least a full afternoon to go down this nearby street Champs Elysées.

My itinerary advice for luxury shopping on rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, Paris

I advise you to start your journey at the Baccarat store located at the corner between avenue Matignon and rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré. Pass in front of the Bristol hotel which has one of the best restaurants in Paris (and also an excellent tea room), then in front of the Elysee Palace which you should bypass on foot by taking an adjacent street (traffic is prohibited for pedestrians recently, so you will just have to go around the block) to return to rue Saint Honoré.

After a hundred meters, you will start to see luxury shopping brands piling up. Passing the Gucci store you can continue on Rue Saint Honoré in front of you. There you will find the Balmain, Alexander McQueen, Giorgio Armani stores…

Where to eat in the rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré, Paris

France is also the country of gastronomy, if you want to eat in this street, I recommend either the Hotel Bristol or the Hotel Mandarin Oriental (Asian-inspired), with two of the most prestigious restaurants in the capital.

4/ Place Vendôme, jewelry, jewelry and jewelry, the place dedicated to the greatest jewelers in the world

Place Vendome, Paris, France

Place Vendôme is known today as the location where many renowned jewelers have taken up residence.

Since the establishment of Boucheron in 1893, the first major jeweler who decided to set up on Place Vendome (to the detriment of the historic Rue de la Paix) many jewelry houses have set up on this exceptional square.

You will find Cartier, Boucheron, Chaumet, Verney, Van Cleef & Arpels, Chopard…
If you want to buy an exceptional piece of jewelry, this is definitely the place to go in Paris. Not only will you have access to incredible jewelry, but I’ll also share my little secret with you: if you want a unique, custom-made piece of jewelry, go to Boucheron.

Where to find luxury watches in Paris: Place Vendome

Around Place Vendome, you will also find a large number of luxury watch stores with Rolex, Breguet, Hublot, Jaeger LeCoultre…

Where to have a drink or eat Place Vendome

Finally, if you want to eat something or have a drink, go to the Ritz Paris hotel. Please note, if you wish to access the restaurant, you will need a reservation.

On the other hand, I strongly advise you to go to the Ritz Paris Hemingway bar or the Ritz Paris Comptoir (its exceptional pastry store), both located on Rue Cambon. To get there take rue des Capucines and take the first left, after a few meters you will see these two signs side by side on your left.

My secret place Place Vendome

My little secret: the Spa at the Ritz Paris. A true luxury setting in which you can recharge your batteries and take care of yourself.

5/ Boulevard Haussmann, the iconic Grands Magasins of Paris

Galeries Lafayette, Haussmann, Paris, France

My last address won’t surprise you either. If you are passing through Paris and want to do some luxury shopping, you cannot miss visiting Galeries Lafayette or Printemps.
These two stores bring together all the luxury brands of perfumes, clothing, jewelry… in a historic building with typical architecture.
However, I must warn you these are much less exclusive places than my first 4 addresses because you will find a lot of tourists and a lot more people there. That’s why I put this address last.

Why shopping on Boulevard Haussmann is a luxury experience not to be missed

However, it seemed essential to me to mention them here because I find that walking inside these buildings with their typical Haussmannian architecture remains an experience not to be missed in Paris.

Furthermore, it is essential to pass through there during the Christmas holidays to enjoy the exterior decorations of these buildings. Indeed, each luxury brand is doubling its imagination to create exceptional exterior displays. Strolling along Boulevard Haussmann at Christmas therefore remains an absolute must for me because it is a Parisian tradition in the same way as walking up the Champs Elysees.

My secret places to eat Boulevard Haussmann, Paris

If I have managed to convince you to take a trip to Boulevard Haussmann to do your luxury shopping, then I advise you to eat at the Perruche restaurant (it offers a Bar as well). A great restaurant with Mediterranean flavors located on the rooftop of the Printemps Haussmann stores.
