Whether you are living in Geneva, Switzerland or a fresh newcomer, here is my own selection of the 3 best premium Fitness Gym that could be found in Geneva.
PURE Sports Club Geneva
Located in the very chic Champel district of Geneva, the PURE Sports Club de Geneve is probably my personal first choice. A high-end welcome with attentive staff, a beautiful and pleasant gym. A pleasant cardio area equipped with Technogym with enough treadmills and other cardio machines. A pleasant group training area with space and very good coaches. A weight training area (located in the center of the Cardio section) with many guided Technogym machines (with cables) to work the entire body. A second weight training area with free weights, barbells, dumbells, a squat cache, a Smith machine, a cross over cable station, a pulley pull-down station and Technogym Pure Strength machines.
In short, all the minimum equipment to train in good conditions without neglecting any part of the body.
Finally, a pleasant clientele which reinforces the feeling of security in the gym and a pleasant Sauna and Hammam where we can relax after training.
Opening Hours:
Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
My evaluation of the club:
Selectivity: 15/20
The facilities: 14/20 (Pleasant Sauna and Hammam. But where is the swimming pool?)
The setting: 15/20 (great and secured neighborhood)
The fitness equipment: 14/20 (correct, complete and clean)
L’Usine Sports Club Geneva
The general design and atmosphere of the fitness gym is quite nice. The lounge bar is pleasant after a good session. The clientele is quite select. There is no doubt that you feel safe there. The Groupe Training Area is pleasant (parquet flooring and good light during the day). The range of group lessons and small group lessons is very interesting. I really liked the design and atmosphere of the weight training section. The Sauna area is simply magnificent and pleasant. The Hammam is quite large and clean. However, I found that the general design of the locker rooms (a bit industrial and lacking in charm) was not really up to par with the rest of the fitness gym.
The hours, the location and the quality of the clientele clearly make it a top fitness club in Geneva. However, I was extremely disappointed to find almost only Precor machines in the weight section of a gym that claims to be high-end. Even if it must be admitted that these machines blend in well with the decor and atmosphere of the club, we expect more from a gym that aims to be of high standard. However, I really appreciated the branded and personalized dumbbells for this fitness gym. They really give a plus in terms of high-end atmosphere.
Opening Hours:
Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
My evaluation of the club:
Selectivity: 15/20
The facilities: 14/20 (Pleasant Sauna and Hammam. But where is the swimming pool?)
The setting: 16/20 (quite central)
The fitness equipment: 11/20 (the branded dumbells are not sufficient to compensate for a full Precor machine equipment)
LivingWell Health Club & Spa Geneva
If only this fitness gym could renew its old generation Technogym fitness machines and make an effort on the design and atmosphere of its weight training and cardio section, it would probably be my favorite fitness gym in Geneva. Its location in the heart of the Hilton Geneva, close to Geneva airport, can be a real advantage depending on your requirements. The clientele is very select, its coaches are tops and I fell in love with the swimming pool during the day. How nice it is to be able to swim in a large swimming pool (20 meters and heated all year round) just after an intense workout.
For the rest, this gym offers a real Cross Training corner equipped with a bumper.
For the rest, with the Sauna, the Hammam and the Jacuzzi everything is perfect for having a good time and enjoying active recovery after a good workout.
Opening Hours:
Monday to Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
(Hours for the Sauna, Hammam and Wellness areas are different)
My evaluation of the club:
Selectivity: 16/20
The facilities: 15/20 (Pleasant Sauna, Hammam and Swimming Pool but no design or charm of the weight room and cardio area)
The setting: 15/20 (inside the Hilton and near the international airport)
The fitness equipment: 13/20 (practical and complete machines but from the last generation of Technogym)
