Whether you are living in New-York or a fresh newcomer, here are my Top-3 favorite premium Fitness Gym in Manhattan for both men and women.

Life Time Fitness

Life Time Sky Manhattan

The Life Time Fitness brand is present in many places in the United States with services that vary depending on the location. Life Time has several fitness clubs in Manhattan. Among these, two clubs are among my favorites in the city. The Life Time Sky club located near the Hudson River between Hudson Yard and Hell’s Kitchen is by far my favorite. The design of the place, the atmosphere, the feeling of space, the swimming pool, the incredible basketball court… Everything is there to train well and have a great time.

Apart from the Sky, the One located in the heart of the Financial District just behind the Stock Exchange on Wall Street is very pleasant and practical when you work in the neighborhood.

The Life Time “Midtown” located between 5th Avenue and Central Park on 56th Street is also one of my favorites for its very practical aspect when you are close to Times Square.

In short, for the best Life Time clubs you will have to pay around $329 per month (2024 rate) but often without additional “Joining Fees”.

Below, the details concerning the Life Time Sky Manhattan (my little favorite :-)):

The Mercedes Club

Mercedes Fitness Club NYC, night view

Between Dewitt Clinton Park and Mount Sinai Hospital, there is a little gem in terms of fitness clubs. The Mercedes Club, located a few minutes walk from the Hudson River and Central Park, is also one of my favorite fitness clubs in Manhattan. I love the atmosphere of this club which offers in addition to a complete fitness area, a bright cardio area, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna… and even an outdoor movie theater during the summer.

Everything is there to train well, meet nice people and recover after the effort. So don’t hesitate to take a look, you won’t be disappointed.

Expect about $200 per month plus a membership joining fee which will depend on the current offers.

Equinox Clubs

Equinox Hudson Yards

I admit that I have a soft spot for Equinox Wall Street even though it is objectively not the best Equinox in Manhattan. Indeed, having worked on Wall Street I spent many evenings in the Equinox Wall Street whose entrance is actually located opposite the side entrance of the Stock Exchange. As a result, I have many good memories there and I made many very nice acquaintances there.
Apart from this gym, I really like the Equinox Brookfield place (still in the Financial District) for its ultra-complete fitness equipment.
I also really like the Equinox on Greenwich Avenue for its dynamism and its swimming pool.
The Equinox Flatiron has a lot of charm with a mix between the architecture made of exposed brick mixed with a certain modernity, a high ceiling and a feeling of space.
Finally, the indoor and especially outdoor pools of the Equinox Hudson Yards are truly incredible. I really recommend you go there at least once to enjoy the sunset by the outdoor swimming pool.

You will need to pay $315 per month to access most NYC clubs and $405 per month to access all clubs including the Equinox Hudson Yards club.
